Yes — dogs are welcome at the shepherd’s huts at Spring Hill Farm but must be pre-booked and an additional charge applies.  There are many lovely dog walks directly from the farm. You can find more details about local walks on our website:

In summer we sometimes also open a temporary enclosed dog walking area, which is deer-fenced and planted with trees and shrubs so dogs can explore safely off-lead.  Please contact us for further information.

Yes — and we’d love it if you did!  Booking directly helps us avoid third-party commissions and allows us to communicate with you more easily before your stay.

Yes — we can usually provide access to a standard EV charging point for an additional charge.

If you'd simply like to leave your vehicle before check-in, but don't need access to your Shepherd's Hut, we can usually accommodate this free of charge. Just let us know in advance.

If you'd like to access your hut before the standard check-in time, we may be able to offer an early check-in for an additional charge, subject to availability.

Yes — we can arrange fresh pastries from award-winning Mark’s Cotswold Bakery.

Choose any two pastries and we’ll have them ready in your hut with tea, coffee or hot chocolate — perfect for a relaxed morning (assuming you can resist them until morning as they will be placed in your hut before arrival!).  Please contact us for details and prices.

No — wood for the hot tub and fire pit is included with your stay.  If you would like additional wood, it can be purchased on site.

Yes, both of our Shepherd’s Huts have a fridge with plenty of space to keep your food and drinks cool during your stay.

The Rosie Shepherd’s Hut also has a small freezer compartment within the fridge, which is useful for keeping small items frozen.

The Percy Shepherd’s Hut does not have a freezer compartment, but the fridge is available for keeping chilled items during your stayn

Yes — we offer a decorating service for special occasions.

You’re welcome to send decorations such as banners or balloons in advance and we’ll arrange them in the hut before you arrive.  A small fee applies to cover the time involved. Please contact us if you’d like to arrange this.

Yes — we offer a continental breakfast hamper for Shepherd’s Hut guests or you can simply order some pastries depending on what you prefer.

The hamper includes:

• Pastries or bread
• Butter and jam
• Cereal
• Fruit and yoghurt
• Milk and juice
• Tea and coffee

The hamper provides breakfast for two people and will be placed in your hut before your arrival.

Orders must be placed at least 72 hours before your stay. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

The hot tub works using natural circulation rather than a pump.  Cool water flows into the heater through the lower pipe, warms up, and naturally rises back into the tub through the upper pipe.  You’ll feel warm water coming from the top outlet, while cooler water enters through the lower pipe.  Full instructions of how to use the hot tub will be the hut.

Yes — fire pits are usually available during the summer months when the ground is dry enough to sit outside the cabin comfortably.   A good supply of wood is provided as part of your stay for use with both the fire pit and the hot tub, and additional wood can be purchased on site if required.

If you booked through an online travel agent (such as Airbnb, Booking.com,  or another platform), please refer to their cancellation policy. 

If you booked directly with us, the payment used to secure your booking is a 15% non-refundable deposit, as outlined in our booking terms and conditions.

Our Shepherd’s Huts are fully equipped for a comfortable glamping stay in Oxfordshire.

Inside you’ll find:

• Bed linen and towels
• Hand soap and toilet roll
• Hair dryer
• Tea, coffee (instant and ground), sugar and hot chocolate
• Mini marshmallows
• A small supply of milk and eggs
• Salt, pepper and cooking oil
• Fan

The kitchenette includes a sink, hob, fridge and kitchen essentials. There is also a small electric stove which can be used as a heater or a compact oven for cooking small dishes.

Yes — we do allow campervans.  We are primarily a tent camping site, so please note that we do not provide electric hook-ups or chemical waste disposal.  If you are happy with that, campervans are very welcome!

Yes — rooftop tents are welcome in the camping field.

Yes, campfires are normally welcome at Spring Hill Farm, provided they are kept off the ground and well away from flammable materials.

Firewood is available to purchase on site, and fire pits are available to hire if you don't have your own or would rather save space in the car. As they are popular, we recommend reserving a fire pit before your stay, subject to availability.

During periods of exceptionally hot, dry weather or if a weather warning is in place, we may need to temporarily suspend the use of campfires, fire pits and barbecues to help protect our guests, the farm and the surrounding countryside. If this is ever necessary, we'll let guests know before or during their stay.

Fire safety equipment is located at the washing-up area and in the small hut in the centre of the camping field. Full fire safety information can be found in your welcome pack and is also displayed at the washing-up area and toilet facilities.

Yes — we have fire pits available to hire. We recommend reserving one in advance to guarantee availability.

Fire pits are available whenever campfires are permitted. During periods of exceptionally hot, dry weather or if fire safety restrictions are in place, we may temporarily suspend their use. Please see "Can I have a campfire?" for more information.

Yes — respectful groups of friends and family are welcome to camp together.  If you’re planning to bring five or more tents, please contact us before booking.  As we are in open countryside, sound travels easily, so we simply ask guests to be considerate of others.

Yes – we can offer our camping paddock on an exclusive basis to enjoy on your won.  We welcome respectful guests who will leave the field as they find it and keep noise to a minimum after 9.30pm.

Yes — generally our bell tents include a proper double bed as standard.

If you’d prefer separate beds or want extra, we can provide single camp beds or inflatable beds instead. Just let us know in advance.

Camping at Spring Hill Farm is designed to be simple and relaxed. While we don't have a communal fridge, we do provide a freezer for camping guests to re-freeze ice blocks during their stay.

The freezer is located in the woodshed and is intended for ice blocks only. Please do not store food, drinks or other perishable items.

To help keep the freezer working well for everyone, we kindly ask that you:

• Label your ice blocks with your name.
• Collect your ice blocks promptly, as all items are left at your own risk.
• Keep the door closed as much as possible, especially during very hot weather. In temperatures above 30°C, freezers naturally have to work much harder, so minimising the time the door is open helps keep everything frozen.

We run a relaxed camping field in Oxfordshire, and pitches are not allocated.

You’re welcome to choose your own spot when you arrive on a first-come, first-served basis. The field is fairly spacious so there is usually plenty of choice.

Yes — we have a woodshed where guests can purchase firewood during their stay.

Wood is restocked regularly and can be purchased once you arrive on site.

Please note that wood is sold whenever campfires and fire pits are permitted. In exceptional weather conditions, temporary fire restrictions may apply. See "Can I have a campfire?" for more information.

If you booked through an online travel agent (such as Pitchup or another platform), please refer to their cancellation policy.

If you have booked as a group our cancellation policy does vary so please get in touch if you’re unsure.

If there is a weather warning during your stay, please follow a few simple safety tips:

High winds

• Ensure tent pegs and guy ropes are secure
• Take down gazebos or awnings
• Use your car as a windbreak if possible

Heavy rain

• Ensure your tent is pitched correctly for drainage
• Vehicle access to the field may occasionally be restricted to protect the ground

Always check the latest forecast and bring waterproof clothing and suitable footwear.

Our standard check-in time in our camping field is 1pm and check-out is 11am.

The closest is The George in Barford St Michael, which is less than a mile away and can be reached via a quiet lane or footpath.
