What to expect in our Shepherd's huts...

The main area of the huts serves multiple purposes. It features a comfortable sleeping area with cosy double bed, a dining area with a small table and chairs and a compact but well-equipped kitchenette. Both 'Rosie' and 'Percy' Shepherd’s Huts have heating but in addition also feature their own little electric stove, which can be used as room heaters to provide some additional warmth but also be used as a small oven, perfect for cooking small dishes.

The kitchenette feature a sink, a countertop hob, good-sized fridge and storage with all of the kitchen essentials. Although the kitchen area is compact, it offers everything you need to prepare a simple meal, a nice breakfast or just enjoy a hot drink.

The bathroom features a shower, toilet, small basin and heated towel rail, providing you with all of the essential amenities. To enhance the comfort and relaxation of your shepherd's hut, thoughtful touches are featured, such as the electric Everhot stoves mentioned that are ideal for heating the room and perfect for cooking small dishes. Soft lighting in the bedroom area creates a soothing atmosphere.

We provide all the essentials to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including bed linen, towels, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, mini marshmallows, a small supply of milk, salt, pepper, cooking oil, hand soap, washing-up liquid, a tea towel, dishcloths, and toilet roll – so you have everything you need to settle in.

Outside the hut, you’ll find a table, chairs, and a fire pit for those cosy evenings under the open sky (available during summer months or when the ground is dry). When the fire pit is available, we’ll provide a supply of wood, natural firelighters, kindling, lighting paper, matches, and a little treat of marshmallows to toast. If you’d like additional wood, it’s available for purchase during your stay.

You’ll be all set to sit back, take in the view of the meadow, or marvel at the beauty of a star-filled night sky.

To take your relaxing escape to the next level, ‘Rosie’ also features a wood-fired hot tub – the ultimate way to enjoy the open countryside skies. Imagine just the two of you, a glass of wine in hand, soaking in the warmth of the hot tub while gazing up at the stars. Pure bliss.

Ample parking is available on-site, with the Shepherd's Huts a short walk (approx. 150 metres) from the parking area, along a dedicated walkway.

The two shepherd’s huts, Percy and Rosie, are situated in a private area of our Barley Meadow field. Positioned approximately 12 metres apart, they offer a sense of privacy thanks to their thoughtful layout, with each hut facing a slightly different direction and planters providing additional screening. While not completely secluded, this arrangement allows you to enjoy the peaceful meadow views without compromising the tranquil atmosphere.

You’ll feel as though you’re truly in the middle of a field, but with all the luxury of a five-star hotel room—minus the WiFi. We want you to fully embrace the chance to disconnect, relax, and unwind, without sacrificing comfort or indulgence.

Percy is the first hut you’ll come to, while Rosie, located further in, has a slightly longer path to reach her, ensuring no other guests pass by during your stay.

There is plenty to do while you stay at Spring Hill Farm.  We are surrounded by plenty of local walks, some of which can lead you to charming local pubs or cafes. The George Inn at Barford St Michael is within easy walking distance (1 mile via road or across fields via footpath -  click here for our guide). The area is brimming with attractions, with Banbury and the Cotswolds just a stone's throw away.

Explore the delightful towns of Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Oxford, all within a short drive. In addition, discover the charming Cotswold villages of Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Chipping Campden.  Soho Farmhouse is a 6 minute drive from us here at Spring Hill Farm, Diddly Squat Farm Shop is around 20 minutes, Daylesford 25 minutes and Bicester Village around 30 minutes.
