Banbury Christmas Tractor Run Lights Up the Community and Smashes Fundraising Records
Raising over £70,000, a magical event from Spring Hill Farm delights visitors and supports Katharine House Hospice
The Banbury Christmas Tractor Run, an annual highlight for the local community, returned on Saturday December 14th 2024, delivering festive cheer and smashing fundraising records in support of Katharine House Hospice.
This year, the event, which began and ended as usual at Spring Hill Farm, Barford-St-Michael, saw a fleet of 100 dazzlingly decorated tractors make their way through Banbury and surrounding villages, spreading joy and raising an astonishing £70,000, with donations still coming in.
Guests at Spring Hill Farm’s shepherd’s hut had the unique privilege of watching the spectacle unfold from the perfect vantage point, and they were thrilled by the festive atmosphere.

A Celebration of Community Spirit
The 20-mile circular route included passing Banbury Cross and various villages, where crowds gathered to wave, cheer, and marvel at the creativity on display. Many of the tractors featured intricate light displays, showcasing the farmers' dedication to bringing the Christmas spirit to life.
Jennie Steenkamp, speaking from the heart about the event, shared:
“The view from the tractor cab was simply incredible—the crowds were amazing, waving and cheering, and adding so much atmosphere to the event. Seeing the community come together and enjoy the event so much is always a real highlight. It’s humbling to know that our tractor run is the original and, as many have told us, the best they’ve ever seen!”
The tractor run’s reputation has spread far and wide, attracting visitors from across the UK and even international fans. Guests from as far as California and the Netherlands joined the festivities, many having discovered the event through the popular TV show, Clarkson’s Farm.
