Step Back in Time at Upton House & Gardens
Just a short drive from our campsite (12 miles, 25-minute drive), Upton House & Gardens offers a captivating glimpse into 1930s elegance. Once the country retreat of Lord and Lady Bearsted, this stunning National Trust property is home to a world-class art collection, featuring masterpieces by Canaletto, Hogarth, and El Greco.
The beautifully maintained gardens are a highlight, with seasonal blooms, a kitchen garden, herbaceous borders, and a serene lake adorned with water lilies. While the walk down to the lake is fairly short, it is quite steep, so take care when exploring—a closer look at the lake and its surroundings will make it worth the effort!
For refreshments, The Pavilion Café offers a selection of hot and cold light lunches, snacks, and drinks, with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
