Looking for a scenic countryside walk during your stay at Spring Hill Farm? The beautiful village of Great Tew can be reached on foot via public footpaths right from our campsite and shepherd’s huts. It’s about 3.5 miles each way — expect the walk to take around 1.5 hours each way. The route is moderately challenging with some steep hills, but well worth the effort for the views and the charm of the village.

About Great Tew
Great Tew is a picture-perfect Cotswold village known for its honey-coloured ironstone cottages, thatched roofs, and rich rural heritage. Much of the village is part of the historic Great Tew Estate, which has been carefully restored to preserve its unique character.
While exploring the village, you’ll find:
- Cotswold Café (Quince and Clover)

- The Falkland Arms Pub

- St. Michael and All Angels Church
A peaceful, historic Norman church featuring rare medieval wall paintings and set in beautiful grounds.
Please note: Soho Farmhouse, located nearby, is a private members’ club and only accessible to members and their guests.
Parking Tip:
If you prefer to drive, there’s a small car park in the village. If full, additional parking is usually available along the road heading uphill towards St. Michael's Church (exit the car park, turn left, and continue up the hill).
